The Four Pathways to Canadian Permanent Residence via Express Entry

Federal Skilled Worker Program (FSW)
- At least 1 year of continuous full-time (or equivalent part-time) skilled work experience within the last 10 years.
- Minimum language proficiency in English or French (CLB 7).
- Educational Credential Assessment (ECA) required for foreign education.
- Must score 67 points or higher out of 100 based on age, education, work experience, language ability, adaptability, and job offer.
- Proof of settlement funds required.
Federal Skilled Trades Program (FSTP)
- Minimum 2 years of full-time work experience in a skilled trade within the last 5 years.
- A valid job offer in Canada OR a certificate of qualification in that trade from a Canadian authority.
- Language proficiency: CLB 5 (speaking & listening) and CLB 4 (reading & writing).
- Proof of settlement funds required.
Canadian Experience Class (CEC)
- At least 1 year of skilled work experience in Canada within the last 3 years.
- Language proficiency: CLB 7 (for NOC 0 & A jobs), CLB 5 (for NOC B jobs).
- Work experience must be legal and gained with valid authorization.
- Proof of settlement funds not required if currently working in Canada with valid status.
Provincial Nominee Program (PNP)
- Work Experience: Usually 1–2 years in a relevant field (varies by province).
- Language Requirement: CLB 4–7, depending on the stream.
- Education: ECA required for foreign credentials.
- Process: Apply to a province and receive a nomination.
